Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and maintenance of existing tooling according to requirements
- Effective identification of day-to-day tooling issues and implementation of corrective action where required
- Cleaning of all production tooling to ensure on-time delivery and schedule adherence goals are met
- Ensuring all tooling is safe and production-ready at the time returned for production use, following the correct preventative maintenance (PM) process
- Supporting coordination of engineering changes and supporting maintenance of spare parts
- Preparing and testing tools by laying out / setting up / machining
- Designing and making tools/templates to produce prototype parts of various materials, including generating bill of material and complete fabrication and validation
- Verifying conformance of machined and/or repaired tools to specifications by checking dimensions / clearances / alignments
- Making parts of various plant machines and tools as required
- Fitting and assembling parts and testing completed tools for proper operation
- Setting up and carefully monitoring tools and performing inspections prior to removing tooling from the machine
- Following up repair work by seeking feedback from the production and quality departments and completing a record of the work undertaken
- Promoting the company's HSE policies across the department and plant
Requirements: A minimum of an Apprenticeship and familiarity with die casting processes are essential for this role.
