Job Purpose:

This is a key position, responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple site locations. As a first line of service and maintenance, you will be the primary point of contact for all technical issues and repairs throughout your allocated sites. Your role will involve maintaining service and repairing Refrigeration Equipment in customer locations, as well as providing assistance with HVAC equipment containing refrigeration circuits. Engineering teams provide 24-hour service cover throughout the year to customer equipment through the use of planned and extended working hours, including participation in standby rota procedures.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Prioritize maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
  2. Identify non-repairable faults promptly and advise the Line manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacements.
  3. Ensure PPM schedules are completed within agreed timescales and that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and to the laid-down procedures.
  4. Ensure that all technical and compliance paperwork is always completed and up to date.
  5. Participate on an out-of-hours standby rota. Responsible for arranging and communicating any cover required due to holidays or unforeseen circumstances to the Line manager.
  6. Be aware of regulations and codes of practice applicable to the tasks.
  7. Order and fit parts or components as prescribed by company procedures.
  8. Notify the company helpdesk of procedural task condition on cessation of works.
  9. Advise the GSMs of any repair, maintenance, and installation issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the store and build rapport with all GSMs.
  10. Respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk and assess the requirements of the job and carry out repairs as necessary.
  11. Carry out surveys and complete reports as required by the refrigeration supervisor/RFM.
  12. Complete all work to the highest standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, while complying with the laid-down Company Health and Safety policy.
  13. Carry out all tasks assigned within the allotted time period to the satisfaction of the company and client.
  14. Be proficient in the use of written and verbal communication, report writing, and recording procedures.
  15. Attend training courses as necessary and ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical and business developments.
  16. Ensure all mandatory Evolve online training modules are completed.
  17. Comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and the company's Health and Safety Policy at all times.
  18. Work with company and ASDA colleagues to ensure that laid-down standards of quality are maintained at all times.
  19. Represent the company in a professional and competent manner at all times and develop good working relationships with City and ASDA colleagues.
  20. Comply with any other reasonable request or instruction from the City Management Team.

  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Competent in the use of Access Equipment
  • Current Full driving licence essential
  • Available for Out of Hours Working
