Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Operations Coordinator to join our team at MTR Elizabeth line. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the running of a safe and punctual railway on a daily basis through liaison with Network Rail, RfLI, and MTR Elizabeth line RCC.

About the Role

This is a key role that requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work under pressure, and excellent problem-solving abilities. As a Senior Operations Coordinator, you will work closely with Senior Service Delivery Officers, Senior Train Service Managers, and Operations Development Managers to review previous day's performance incidents and ensure learnings are shared to mitigate repeat incidents.

You will also develop strong working relationships with Network Rail staff, RfLI, other TOC/FOC's, and key industry partners to deliver an effective response to and minimize the impact of any disruption on both our customers and the wider rail network.

The post-holder will support and coordinate the management of all incidents, accidents, and emergencies affecting the operational railway in liaison with colleagues in Network Rail, RfLI, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the running of a safe and punctual railway on a daily basis
  • Liaise with Network Rail, RfLI, and MTR Elizabeth line RCC
  • Review previous day's performance incidents and share learnings to mitigate repeat incidents
  • Develop strong working relationships with key industry partners
  • Support and coordinate the management of all incidents, accidents, and emergencies
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to have demonstrable experience of the following:

  • Customer-focused individual capable of working outside traditional routines
  • Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to integrate into multidisciplinary teams
  • Wide experience in passenger train operations
  • Demonstrable skill in the use of Microsoft Office package and control-specific software
  • Experience within a control environment, area operations, or infrastructure role
  • Full understanding of MTR Elizabeth Line train services, customer requirements, and route geography
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to your salary, you will receive a range of benefits including travel benefits (free zones 1-6 Oyster travel card, 75% discount on all UK rail travel), pension scheme, and access to our dedicated online benefits platform.
