Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Child Development Specialist to join our team at a thriving one-form-entry school in Kensington and Chelsea. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child with ASD and suspected Pathological Demand Avoidance. The successful candidate will provide 1:1 support, leveraging their expertise in de-escalation and restraint techniques. As the child becomes more settled, the role will evolve to provide general support across the reception class.

Job Description:
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience working with children with ASD and sound knowledge of the Early Years curriculum. They will commit to providing stability and consistency, enabling the child to thrive in their educational journey. The successful candidate will collaborate with the SENCo and external agencies to ensure the child's needs are met.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 support to a child with ASD and suspected PDA
  • Utilize de-escalation and restraint techniques as necessary
  • Offer general support across the reception class

Requirements:
  • Extensive experience working with children with ASD
  • Sound knowledge of the Early Years curriculum
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
