Job Title: Personal Support Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to support a 9-year-old boy with his daily activities in the Merthyr area. As a Personal Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping him develop independence, confidence, and communication skills.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To assist the young person in various activities, such as going to the park or attending social events;
  • To help him develop self-care skills and become more sociable and confident away from family members;
  • To plan and participate in activities that cater to his interests and hobbies;
  • To provide patient and understanding support during outings and daily tasks.

Requirements:

">

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be patient and understanding, and have experience working with children with additional needs. A DBS check is also required for this position.

What We Offer:

">

We offer a competitive salary of £13.80 per hour, with 4.5 hours of work per week during term-time and 12 hours per week during school holidays. Full training will be provided, and a car user with a vehicle is desirable but not essential.

Working Arrangements:

">

This is a part-time position, and the successful applicant will be subject to a three-month trial period. The job will involve observing the young person at all times and supporting them in their daily activities.
