Senior Teaching Associate Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Teaching Associate to join our team at the MRC Biostatistics Unit, University of Cambridge. The successful candidate will have a strong background in population health sciences and the ability to deliver engaging and effective postgraduate education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of courses covering epidemiology, biostatistics, and infectious diseases for the Masters of Philosophy in Population Health Sciences (MPhil in PHS)
  • Develop and deliver engaging, challenging, and effective teaching at masters level in relevant topics
  • Provide pastoral assistance to students and support their development as self-regulated learners
  • Contribute to the development of new teaching materials and assessment methods
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality education and research
Requirements
  • PhD in a relevant quantitative topic (e.g. epidemiology, biostatistics, health data science, infectious disease modelling, computer science or applied mathematics)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and develop strong relationships with colleagues
  • Proven academic interest and professional experience in the field
  • Experience of proposing, supervising, and assessing masters-level dissertation projects in relevant topics
