Job Description

Project Manager III - Software Delivery Expert

The Project Manager III - Software Delivery Expert is a critical role within our organization, responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of software solutions to our clients. This position requires a strong leader who can effectively manage cross-functional teams, drive project execution, and ensure timely and within-budget delivery.

Main Responsibilities
  • Pre-Sales
    • Collaborate with the pre-sales team, Head of Product Line, and Product Line Delivery Manager to create project Statements of Work.
    • Work with the Product Line Delivery Manager to determine the necessary skills and resources required for project work and book the appropriate resources.
  • Project Execution
    • Oversee the successful delivery of large-scale software projects within project budgets, adhering to Sequel PMO project delivery processes.
    • Obtain stage-gate and interim sign-offs, including client specifications, internal build and test tasks, and release process.
    • Manage Client User Acceptance Testing and project closure, ensuring a smooth handover to BAU teams.
    • Preempt and remove any issues or blockers during project execution to ensure successful delivery.
  • Management, Monitoring, and Optimization of the Project Plan
    • Manage the project delivery team to deliver against agreed budgets and timelines.
    • Ensure adherence to project quality processes and standards for the scale of project in execution.
    • Obtain regular forecasts from the team to enable accurate project reporting.
    • Review timesheets submitted from the Product Line delivery team to ensure timely and accurate detailed timesheet entry.
    • Manage the project RAID log and independently identify solutions/strategies to resolve problems as they arise.
    • Raise appropriate Change Controls to manage change requests, achieve client sign-off, and maintain project governance.
  • Reporting and Client Engagement
    • Ensure accurate project reporting, including weekly internal invoices, external client project status, and budget reports.
    • Work with the client Account Manager, Head of Product Line, and Product Line Delivery Manager to monitor and maintain project revenues in line with forecasts/targets.
    • Regular engagement with the Sequel Account Manager to maintain a close understanding of current project positions and client strategic positions on the account.
    • Develop good working relationships with team members and client project team members.
    • Provide performance feedback on project team members.
  • Continual Improvement and Governance
    • Collate project lessons learned throughout the project life-cycle, applying improvements during project execution and following project delivery to participate in continuous improvement programs as appropriate.
    • Proactively suggest and apply continuous improvements to product-line delivery processes.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Ability to mentor other project managers against Sequel standards to achieve 'on time & on budget' delivery.
    • Deputize for the Programme Manager on a wider Sequel suite program to achieve delivery of products outside of their line management control.
    • Perform any other duties commensurate with the grade of the role.
