Job Title: Commercial Quantity Surveyor

A leading Installations and maintenance business based in the North West are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic and rapidly expanding team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage all aspects of the contractual and financial side of the company's projects, ensuring timely completion, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  2. Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  3. Monitor and control costs throughout the project lifecycle.
  4. Prepare and submit detailed progress reports and financial statements.
  5. Advise on procurement strategy and risk management.
  6. Collaborate with the team and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  7. Develop a high-level understanding of planning and programming to ensure accurate progress reporting.
  8. Utilise specific processes and procedures on projects to maximise returns in terms of profit and service level.
  9. Establish and maintain accurate and robust reporting structures and monitor resources and costs to ensure that projects meet and exceed targets.
  10. Identify, manage, reduce, and drive out unnecessary costs and inefficient activities.
  11. Maximise cash flow through timely preparation of valuations, submission of invoices, and receipt of payment.
  12. Ensure payment processes for site-based teams are in line with contractual agreements.
  13. Procure materials and off-site services in an efficient manner with organisations in accordance with the company's procurement policy and procedures and ensure appropriate records are kept.
Requirements:
  1. Previous experience working as a commercial manager / quantity surveyor.
  2. Ideal candidate will have trained with a main contractor.
  3. The ideal person will have 2 to 3 years of experience post-graduation.
  4. Graduates could be considered for this role, however, you would need commercial experience gained on day release.
  5. Strong communication skills with the ability to work well as part of a team and also independently.
  6. High attention to detail and strong organisational and prioritising skills.
  7. Ability to work well from initiative and make decisions and consult as appropriate.
What We Offer:
  1. Salary up to GBP45k, dependent upon experience.
  2. Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, with a 3.30pm finish on a Friday.
  3. Flexitime can be available.
