Mechanical Design Engineer Position

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic R&D team at Premier Technical Recruitment. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing bespoke solutions to meet customer requirements, modifying/updating existing products, and creating associated BOMs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing innovative solutions to meet customer needs and modifying/updating existing products.
- Producing high-quality drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD and creating accurate BOMs.
- Performing precise engineering calculations and ensuring adherence to Machinery Directives and Engineering standards.
- Interpreting customer and supplier technical documentation and specifications, generating suitable design concepts while working closely with fellow departments.
Requirements:
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will have experience in the Master Model Design Approach, Parametric design, Design Tables, and CAD Macros/Automation. Computer programming (coding) experience would be advantageous, as would previous Rapid Prototyping experience (3D Printing etc.) along with a working knowledge of structural mechanics and the implementation of FEA in Design.
Working knowledge of kinematics and dynamics (theoretical, or via software, or both) and the ability to use them for the analysis of new designs will prove beneficial, as will experience with PDM systems and using CAD Library generation/automation software.
We are looking for a qualified Mechanical Design Engineer with a degree in a relevant engineering discipline and at least 3 years' experience gained within a special purpose machinery design or manufacturing environment, ideally within an industrial automation or engineering arena. Previous experience in the design of electro-mechanical systems, ideally associated with conveyors, automation, or MHE is also required.
