Job Title: Fleet Engineering Manager

Our Client: Our client offers exceptional services to the rolling stock industry, spanning across a range of varying types of stock, including heritage, passenger and freight transport. They provide a wide range of services, including modifications, overhauls and maintenance programmes to ensure the stock is safe, reliable and comfortable.

You Will Be Responsible For:
  1. Identifying and implementing safe, cost-effective countermeasures to product issues, including but not limited to safety, reliability and passenger comfort issues.
  2. Leading teams on technical maintenance and modification campaigns, ensuring on-time delivery in a safe and cost-effective manner.
  3. Developing and building the company's technical engineering function.
  4. Planning, scheduling and delivering on BOM's, work instructions and electronic data recording forms for planned maintenance activities.
  5. Maintaining maintenance records of all activities related to specific projects, ensuring they meet the requirements of the company and industry standards.
  6. Taking the lead on engineering change implementation to improve fleet and system performance and overall costs of maintenance.
  7. Spearheading incident management activities.
General Requirements:
  1. HNC or above in some form of Engineering discipline.
  2. Extensive experience in rolling stock maintenance or asset management activities.
  3. Experience in project planning, governance and execution.
  4. Strong engineering knowledge of traction rolling stock systems and maintenance legislation and regulations.
  5. Knowledge of standard rail industry legislation and standards.
  6. Strong understanding and awareness of health and safety.
  7. Computer literate, including all Microsoft packages.
