About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead our dedicated catering team in Salford. As part of a 12-member team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the preparation and cooking of food to ensure the company's reputation for quality is enhanced.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute menus that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Lead a team of 5 direct reports and ensure a positive kitchen environment where staff feel valued and supported.
  • Drive sales through menu planning and promotions, and maintain high levels of cleanliness, food safety, and health and safety standards.
  • Monitor food costs and maintain budgetary control, and develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to achieve business objectives and contribute to the company's sustainability mission.

About You

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality food and excellent customer service.
  • Excellent culinary and presentation skills, with a passion for innovation and creativity.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • A clear understanding of profit margins, purchasing policy, budgeting, and food costing, with experience of stock and waste control.
  • A strong understanding of food management systems, including HACCP, Food Safety, Health and Safety, Natasha's Law, Allergens, and Manual Handling.
