About the Role
MWH Treatment is seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our Engineering team in the Anglian water region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of the final optioneering stage and detailed design for construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the successful delivery of non-infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Manage and coordinate the final optioneering stage and detailed design for construction, ensuring technical excellence and innovation in engineering solutions.
- Manage the delivery of design in accordance with the design management plan and design brief, including client requirements, cost, programme, best practice design standards, design responsibilities, BIM strategy, and contract agreement.
- Monitor and report on design progress on a weekly and monthly basis, including taking action to maintain design delivery to time, cost, drive efficiencies, quality, and safety requirements.
- Collaborate closely with partners, including engineers, designers, contractors, and stakeholders, to drive collaboration and achieve project objectives.
- Inspire and lead a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, and implement effective strategies to overcome challenges.
- Ensure the scope of solution is clearly defined and agreed by all parties, design complies with client brief, contract, current legislation, Development Consent Order, building regulations, CDM, and relevant technical requirements.
- Develop new ways of working to reduce carbon, increase biodiversity, address climate change, and embrace innovations and new digital technologies.
- Oversee the technical deliverables ensuring they are produced within the required time-scales, technical costs are properly managed, and technical change is tightly controlled.
- Ensure all engineering outputs meet industry-leading standards and client expectations.
- Uphold MWH Treatment's commitment to sustainability, quality, and excellence in all project activities.
