Job Title: Apprentice Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Apprentice Engineer to join our team at Trevett Project Services. As an Apprentice Engineer, you will be responsible for operating and managing all engineering assets to support the business with no unplanned disruptions in the most cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure routine PPM is carried out to all mechanical plant in accordance with Site task schedules and asset lists.
  2. Ensure reactive tasks throughout the building are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made.
  3. Ensure suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works.
  4. Ensure Computer Based Maintenance system, e.g. Concept, Smart Hub, is kept up to date and that PPM and reactive tickets are closed out with accurate data captured.
  5. Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed regarding reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator.
  6. Ensure Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared, and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices at all times.
  7. Develop a good working relationship with all members of staff, subcontractors, and client representatives at site.
  8. Supervise and monitor sub-contractors' works whilst they are on site undertaking maintenance.
  9. Ensure tasks as directed are completed with the appropriate H&S awareness/implementation.
  10. Ensure the engineering team on site produce required near miss reports, dynamic risk assessments, and detailed records of site activities, and ensuring any non-compliance is challenged and escalated where necessary.
  11. Provide out of hours' emergency callout cover out of normal office hours and weekends.
  12. Any other task as directed by the site management team.

Requirements:

  1. HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Certified Mechanical in HVAC systems.
  3. Minimum City & Guilds certificate/s within an appropriate engineering discipline.
  4. Fully conversant with large complex multi-functioning HVAC buildings.
  5. Chilled & condenser water systems.
  6. Close Control Air-conditioning systems.
  7. Water treatment - ACOP L8 and Cooling Towers.
  8. Experience of maintaining all relevant Mechanical equipment to clearly defined criteria. Experience of working in building services.
