Role Overview

Oxford Knight is seeking a skilled High-Performance Systems Engineer to join our team in London or Singapore. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing high-performance systems that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement high-performance systems that meet the needs of our clients
  • Collaborate with business partners and application owners to deliver systems that meet requirements
  • Provide low-latency infrastructure solutions consistently across 400+ servers at 22+ global sites
  • Take the initiative to automate routine tasks and promote the practice of Infrastructure as Code

Requirements
  • 5+ years' experience working with Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Rocky preferred) in a large environment focused on operations, systems engineering, and systems performance
  • Experience in server management and support: HP, SuperMicro, Dell, various overclock servers
  • Proficiency with low-latency network interfaces and kernel bypass (configuration and optimization): Solarflare with onload, Mellanox with VMA
  • In-depth knowledge of server network stack configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting including TCP, UDP (unicast/multicast), NTP, PTP, wireshark/tshark
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or related)
  • Excellent critical and analytical problem-solving skills

Nice to Have
  • Good knowledge of system hardware/OS tuning and performance troubleshooting, understanding of CPU architectures
  • Experience with build and configuration management tools, specifically Chef or Ansible
  • Experience with observability tools, in particular Grafana & Prometheus
  • Experience with scripting & automation (Python, Ruby, Bash)
