At IMC Locums, we are seeking a highly skilled Podiatrist to join our team in Newcastle. This is an exceptional opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team and contribute to delivering high-quality care to patients.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a Degree in Podiatry and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK. With a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in podiatry, ideally with exposure to a range of podiatric conditions, they will be able to develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement routine podiatric care, minor surgical procedures, orthotic prescription, and wound management.
  • Treat various conditions such as nail and skin pathologies, foot deformities, sports injuries, and biomechanical dysfunctions.
  • Use diagnostic tools such as ultrasound or gait analysis to enhance assessment and treatment plans, where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with clinic policies and professional standards.

Patient Education and Engagement:

The successful candidate will provide patient education on foot health, preventative care, and self-management strategies. They will also advise on proper footwear, orthotics, and other products that support foot health and prevent recurrence of issues.

Clinic and Service Development:

As a key member of our team, the successful candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of clinical best practices within the podiatry service. They will participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and service reviews to enhance patient outcomes and clinic performance.

Collaboration and Communication:

The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, orthotists, and other healthcare professionals, to provide holistic patient care. They will participate in team meetings, case discussions, and ongoing training sessions to support clinic goals and professional growth.

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree in Podiatry and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK.
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in podiatry, ideally with exposure to a range of podiatric conditions.

Benefits:
