Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Brent Council. As a key member of our Housing Asset Management team, you will play a crucial role in managing multi-million pound contracts for major works, refurbishment, repairs, voids, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage accurate budget management and processing for contractor repairs, voids work requests, and applications.
  • Develop and negotiate contracts with contractors, suppliers, in-house departments, and consultants.
  • Develop performance and monitoring systems for budget forecasting, variance reporting, volume performance, and KPIs.
  • Build and maintain effective business relationships with providers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Assist in preparing the Housing Asset Management Strategy, investment options, cost modelling, and work programmes.
  • Manage assigned projects or programmes, ensuring agreed outcomes are delivered on time, within budget, and to the expected standard.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in developing effective contract specifications and procurement documents.
  • Thorough knowledge of procurement legislation, social housing maintenance, and refurbishment contracts.
  • Strong budget management experience and proven experience working with contractors and consultants in a service delivery environment.
  • Excellent understanding of the financial and technical aspects of contracts, contract procurement, and accounting.
