About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspection Specialist to join our team at Workshop Recruitment. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for performing mechanical inspections, documenting results, and ensuring quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and approve incoming/outgoing materials/products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and reporting to the Head of Inspection/QA any non-conforming materials/products.
  • Perform first off, in-process, and final inspection by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisors/operators.
  • Read technical drawings, control plans, and specifications to understand product requirements.
  • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and waste, and inputting data into the quality database.
  • Raise and sign release documents (CofC, Advice Notes, etc.)
  • Maintain measurement equipment by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and reporting faulty or out-of-calibration equipment to QA.
  • Communicate with the Quality/Engineering department about preventing similar defects in the future.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of quality control/inspection standards and testing techniques/methods.
  • Good math and technical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.

Estimated Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience, based on national averages in the UK. Benefits include 33 days holiday including bank holidays, life assurance, pension scheme (employee 5%, employer 3%), and discretionary bonus scheme.
