Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Technologist to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and support to clinical staff, ensuring the safe and effective use of medical equipment across various specialties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical advice and support to clinical staff on the use and maintenance of medical equipment
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and repair of complex medical equipment
  • Ensure accurate recording of maintenance activities on equipment management databases
  • Collaborate with manufacturers and service agents to resolve technical issues related to medical equipment
  • Act as lead technical specialist for medical equipment, providing guidance and support to colleagues

Requirements

  • BSc in Medical Engineering or equivalent qualification/experience
  • In-depth experience working at band 4 or higher in a hospital medical engineering technical role
  • Ability to travel between hospital sites and occasional work trips abroad
  • Full UK driving license and valid passport

Working Arrangements

This role offers a competitive salary of approximately £34,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience. The successful candidate will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including annual leave, sick pay, and pension scheme.
