Job Description

Thrive Oldham is seeking a highly skilled Area Supervisor to join their team in Leicestershire Council.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Council's waste sites, ensuring the safe and efficient management of waste disposal and recycling processes.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the onboarding process for new starters and undertaking one-to-one meetings
  • Delivering training through workbooks and e-learning platforms
  • Developing and delivering toolbox talks and other training packages
  • Monitoring and enforcing the Council's safe systems of work and risk assessments
  • Ensuring accurate records for waste movements and filing
  • Monitoring and enforcing the Council's Quality Management System
  • Issuing and monitoring PPE and uniforms
  • Driving a Council 3.5-tonne box van
  • Handling low-level complaints from customers

The ideal candidate will possess excellent IT skills, good interpersonal skills, and experience in line managing multiple staff. A valid UK driver's license and access to a vehicle are also essential.

This is a field-based role, with occasional opportunities to work from home or County Hall. The successful candidate will be required to work a minimum of 1 in 3 weekends, with overtime available.
