At WSP, we're committed to delivering high-quality infrastructure projects that make a positive impact on communities. As a Highway Infrastructure Project Lead, you'll play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the delivery of Highway Infrastructure projects, focusing on quality and timely delivery.
  2. Act as a project manager for highways-related projects, overseeing resource management, project meetings, financial reporting, and client engagement.
  3. Ensure technical delivery meets client scope and company requirements.
  4. Develop and maintain relationships with internal WSP staff to maximize Roads opportunities.
  5. Manage financial outcomes for projects, ensuring diligent working and sound business/financial management.
  6. Proactively report and mitigate risks to project delivery.
  7. Assist the Project Director and Regional Director in developing business for Highway and Transportation activities.
  8. Manage, develop, and coach staff within the Roads north east & Cumbria team to achieve high performance.
  9. Ensure all projects/services are delivered in accordance with WSP's BMS system.
  10. Deliver Highways design aspects of junction interventions, Active Travel, OBC, and FBCs across Tyne & Wear and Teesside.
  11. Work within the Highways Design team and support Highways Drainage as required.
  12. Significant opportunities for development, including progression to Associate role based on experience and performance.

Requirements

  1. Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent.
  2. Experience with Windes drainage modelling design software and Highway Alignment design software.
  3. Experience working with Developers and Local/Water Authorities on Highway/Drainage adoption and approval processes.
  4. Project Management skills, including programming, resource management, and team building.
  5. AutoCAD proficiency and experience in highway/drainage design and detailing requirements.
  6. Good working knowledge of DMRB and current drainage design standards and procedures.
  7. Excellent working knowledge of NEC3 contract development and administration/delivery.
