Product Development Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Product Development Specialist to join our team at Disability Solutions. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing key projects that support product design and new product introduction to the market.
This position is at the heart of innovation, driving the creation of temperature-controlled solutions that shape our industry's future.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage design projects with guidance from the project manager throughout the product development process.
- Design new products and/or modify current products to meet customer needs.
- Assess new product innovations and build prototypes for Research and Development.
- Work closely with the Sales Department on customer-specific projects, including visits to customer sites to support sales enquiries or product support.
- Provide technical product support to customers and colleagues, recommending appropriate solutions where required.
- Write technical documentation to required standards, including engineering memos, validation documentation, etc.
- Create 3D CAD models of packaging components and system assemblies and resulting 2D technical drawings to required standards.
- Design, develop, and execute thermal and mechanical simulations.
- Design, execute, and draw conclusions from experiments using statistical analysis.
- Prepare laboratory tests using approved processes, equipment, and materials.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate technical documentation.
- Maintain documentation using the change control system.
- Ensure adherence to all procedures and processes set up within the Quality System.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Quality Systems in use within the company.
- Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of related engineering experience, an engineering-specific bachelor's, or a Master's degree.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a creative approach for new ideas.
- Ability to support large-scale projects, willing to be proactive, take initiative, and follow-up to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Manage multiple assignments simultaneously and have strong organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and oversee multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, effective time management skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD program.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Experience with thermal and structural simulation tools.
- Knowledge of heat transfer mechanisms.
- Ability to perform energy balance calculations.
The estimated annual salary for this role is $100,000 - $140,000 depending on skills, experience, and location.
