Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Employment Tax Advisory Specialist to join our team in Scotland, responsible for delivering high-quality tax advice to clients across the region.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in employment tax, working closely with our regional partner to drive the delivery of advice to clients. Your key responsibilities will include providing technical consultancy work, drafting advice and reports, and guiding the team in annual employer benefits reporting (P11D, PSA, and ERS).

You will be responsible for advising on all areas of employment tax, including salary sacrifice arrangements, employment status, IR35, and CIS, as well as benefits and expenses, payroll advisory, and staff reward. Seasonally, you will lead the team in developing and implementing annual employer benefits reporting strategies.

Key Accountabilities
  • To work within the existing local Employment Tax team and assist the national team in driving the delivery of employment tax advice.
  • To provide proactive and high-quality tax advice to clients, target clients, and colleagues, identifying opportunities to improve business outcomes.
  • To generate and lead the delivery of Employment Tax advisory work, contributing towards helping the wider employment tax and regional teams achieve their business plan goals.
Requirements

We are looking for someone with experience in employment taxes, PAYE, and NICs, excellent communication skills, and a strong attention to detail. You should also have a proven track record of managing and delivering tax planning advisory work, along with experience of leading a team and providing guidance to colleagues.
