Job Opportunity: Consultant in Addiction Psychiatry

NHS Grampian is seeking a highly skilled Consultant in Addiction Psychiatry to join our team in Elgin. As a key member of our Integrated Drug and Alcohol Team, you will provide expert input and guidance to support the delivery of high-quality patient care.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Consultant in Addiction Psychiatry to make a significant impact in our community. You will work closely with colleagues from General Practice and the local authority to develop and implement effective treatment plans for individuals struggling with addiction.

The postholder will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, register with the Continuing Professional Development Programme of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and engage in annual appraisal towards revalidation.

Requirements
  • Higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from date of interview.
  • Alternatively, applicants should possess a CESR / CESR (CP).
  • Applications from doctors with appropriate specialist training and experience who are not listed on the GMC Specialist Register can be considered for a Locum Consultant post (up to 12 months) if no substantive Consultant appointment is made.
Working Arrangements

The post is advertised as 32 hours / 8 sessions per week, offering a great work-life balance and opportunities for professional growth and development.
