About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Engineering Technical Standards Specialist at ENGINEERINGUK. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our technical standards efforts, driving standardisation of design information across all equipment and environment schemes.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining equipment manuals, working with suppliers to find innovative and cost-effective solutions, and ensuring seamless landing of black seal to trial retail landing. You will also be the primary point of contact for Store Development teams, including Compliance, Health & Safety, and Business Continuity teams.

You will work closely with suppliers to develop equipment specifications that meet M&S requirements, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, weight testing, and accessibility standards. Your ability to use relevant software and process drawings will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain equipment manuals, liaising with Stores Space teams
  • Work with suppliers directly to find innovative and low-cost solutions
  • Seamless landing of black seal to trial retail landing
  • Ensure information is of a suitable level of detail for installers and manufacturers
  • Store Development primary point of contact for Compliance, H&S, and Business Continuity teams
  • Ensure Accessible Design guide is followed
  • Sustainable design modeling and reporting
Requirements
  • Thorough understanding of equipment standards, including H&S and weight testing
  • Retail and/or manufacturing experience to fully understand end-to-end use
  • Understanding of material specifications to ensure they meet M&S requirements
  • Ability to use relevant software/processes for drawings registers
  • Supply Base Management experience and technical understanding of a manufacturing or service industry
  • Data Analysis to generate reporting for Management Information requirements and issue resolution
  • Commercial perspective on all aspects of design and ongoing operating costs
