The Role

You will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of personal tax clients, from sole traders and property investors to simple directors of owner-managed businesses. This will involve processing self-assessment and personal tax returns efficiently and accurately, preparing and completing P11D forms as required, and communicating with colleagues from other departments, clients, and HMRC via email or in writing where necessary. You will also assist with tax queries and projects on an ad-hoc basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process self-assessment and personal tax returns efficiently and accurately.
  • Prepare and complete P11D forms as required.
  • Communicate with colleagues from other departments, clients, and HMRC via email or in writing where necessary.
  • Assist with tax queries and projects on an ad-hoc basis.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • CTA qualification (or nearing qualification).
  • Proven experience within an accountancy practice, with the ability to manage client relationships independently.
  • Strong technical expertise in personal tax and capital allowances for sole traders and partnerships.
  • Sound tax advisory knowledge, particularly in areas such as IHT, CGT, Income Tax, and Company Tax issues.
  • Experience of corporate restructuring is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Proficiency in self-assessment software is essential.
