What You'll Do
  • Utilize market-leading analytical tools to make informed trading decisions and create value from the Intraday Power market.
  • Execute trades to manage Octopus' exposure on its multi-billion pound hedge book, ensuring optimal risk management.
  • Deliver additional value through the optimization of flexible assets in the short-term market.
  • Trade the changing forecasts of our PPA portfolio, leveraging your expertise to drive business growth.
  • Contribute to the design and improvement of our in-house analytical tools, sharing your insights and ideas with the team.
  • Collaborate with the Trading Manager to ensure short-term exposure risks are understood across the business.
What You'll Need
  • Experience in commodity trading or a related field, with a minimum of 1+ years of experience.
  • A passion for decarbonisation and grid flexibility, with a deep understanding of the fundamental drivers of the power market.
  • The ability to synthesize numerical information and make informed decisions quickly, with a keen eye for detail.
  • A hunger to perform in a fast-paced and competitive market, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • An ability to maintain continued attention to the market, even in times of low market volatility.
  • Willingness to undertake shift work, including nights and weekends.
