Healthcare Assistant

About the Role
Hartwood Healthcare is seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support our nursing staff in delivering exceptional healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake new patient health checks and support health promotion programs
- Carry out baseline observations, including pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, and pulse rate
- Facilitate routine and 24-hour BP monitoring and advise patients accordingly
- Undertake wound care, dressings, and other clinical tasks as required
- Support the practice nurse with the management of chronic disease clinics
- Carry out BMI checks as directed and act as a chaperone as required
- When trained, undertake venepuncture, administer flu vaccinations, and carry out ear irrigation under supervision
- Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation and provide support during minor operations as required
- Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session and maintain a clean and safe environment
Person Specification
- Excellent communication skills, strong IT skills, and a clear, polite telephone manner
- Effective time management, ability to work as a team member and autonomously, and good interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure, experience of working with the general public, and experience of working in a healthcare setting
