Job Title: Cook

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Maplebrook Care Home. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality food to our residents and ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, cook, and serve hot and cold meals as required.
  • Liaise with the Head Chef to provide a balanced and nutritious diet, utilizing fresh foods to their fullest potential.
  • Supervise and instruct kitchen staff members in equipment usage and hygiene procedures, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence.
  • Ensure adherence to HACCP procedures and statutory Health & Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Ensure all crockery and equipment are cleaned and stored appropriately, and that the overall cleaning of the kitchen area and dining areas is carried out effectively.
Requirements:
  • City & Guilds 706 1 & 2, or equivalent qualification (achieved or working towards).
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Desirable: Previous management or supervisory experience, experience of food preparation for relevant Service User groups, and experience working in a care environment.
