Lead a Team of Chefs in a Care Home Environment

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Second Chef to join our team at Barchester Healthcare, a sector-leading provider of care services across the UK. As a Second Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality culinary experiences for our residents, working closely with the Head Chef to create nutritious and flavoursome menus that meet their needs.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Chef to take on a leadership role, overseeing the kitchen team and ensuring that meals are prepared to the highest standards. You will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in menu development, managing stock control, and maintaining high levels of hygiene and safety in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in creating menus that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of residents
  • Manage the kitchen team, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of food costs, stock levels, and menu planning
  • Ensure that all food preparation and presentation meets the highest standards of quality and presentation
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction

What We Offer

In return for your expertise and dedication, we offer a competitive salary of £32,000 - £42,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including access to our generous refer-a-friend scheme, unlimited retail and leisure discounts, and confidential counselling and legal services.
