Financial Planning Analyst Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Planning Analyst to join our team at Orion. This exciting new role will involve working closely with our Oil & Gas Operator clients in Aberdeen to assist with collating, reporting, and presenting financial and commercial data to senior management.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial planning and analysis, with experience in preparing and presenting reports, and a good understanding of corporate strategic planning. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is essential, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with the Capital Analyst, Finance Business Partners, and HQ to steward the annual Capital budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Consolidate strategic plan inputs from finance and the wider UK business into the overall UK strategic plan.
  • Provide insightful analysis to support the UK Leadership Team in their review of the strategic plan inputs.
  • Co-ordinate inputs and assist in the development of the 3-year production stabilisation plan and integrated activity plans for the UK assets.
  • Prepare presentations and insightful analyses relating to the 3-year production stabilisation plan.
  • Support other UK planning activities, including the annual WP&B process, review of decision support packages, and capital funding memos.
  • Work collaboratively with the Decision Analysis (DA) team and undertake any required training to become a DA Practitioner.

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level (BA, BSc or equivalent) in Business Management (Finance or Accounting), Economics, and/or Engineering.
  • Knowledgeable in basic accounting concepts and familiar with operational and commercial arrangements within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Able to perform a critical review of financial information and have excellent systems skills (particularly in Excel and PowerPoint).

This is a temporary position, and the ideal candidate will be able to work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver high-quality results.
