Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team at a thriving primary school in Hackney. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the class teacher and helping to create an engaging and nurturing learning environment for our pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons and developing engaging lesson plans.
  • Provide targeted support to individual students or small groups, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Assist in the preparation of classroom materials and resources, ensuring a well-organized and effective learning environment.
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, fostering a sense of community and respect among pupils.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to teachers and contributing to the development of individualized education plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and supportive learning experience for all pupils.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a teaching or support role is highly desirable.
  • A valid DBS check on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting classroom activities, with a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
