Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team in Castleford, United Kingdom. As the second-in-command, you will assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen and ensuring exceptional food quality and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and food preparation, leveraging creativity and passion for cooking with fresh, high-quality ingredients.
  2. Supervise the kitchen team and ensure seamless operation during service, promoting a positive and creative work environment.
  3. Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene according to health and safety regulations, guaranteeing a safe and healthy working environment.
  4. Help train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering their growth and development within the team.
  5. Manage inventory and order supplies as needed, optimizing kitchen efficiency and productivity.
  6. Take charge of the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef, demonstrating leadership skills and confidence in your abilities.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards.
  • Creativity and passion for cooking with fresh, high-quality ingredients, combined with excellent culinary skills.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team in a high-pressure environment, promoting a positive and creative work culture.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to go above and beyond.
  • Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or higher preferred), reflecting a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
