Andover, Hampshire, United Kingdom Sparsholt Full time

We are dedicated to supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and ensuring they reach their full potential.

The Sparsholt College Group has experienced an increase in young people with Educational Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and SEN, leading us to develop our curriculum and grow our staff team to offer an outstanding experience for our students.

As a Senior Learning Support Assistant, you will provide both academic and emotional support to ensure each student can flourish. Your role will involve providing support in class and throughout the college day, as well as having a caseload of key students for whom you will take responsibility for ensuring they meet course requirements and are prepared for adulthood.

You will liaise with parents and carers to ensure EHCP requirements are being delivered and work with our SEN officers to ensure reviews happen in a timely manner and that students are progressing and meeting their targets.

This is an excellent opportunity to join our Additional Learning Support (ALS) team and make a real difference in the lives of our students. With experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting, you will need to have a 'can-do' attitude along with a good standard of education including English and Maths at grade C/4 or above or equivalent.

A willingness to undertake further training is essential, and we offer excellent training opportunities to help you progress your career. The salary for this role is £23,379 - £24,816 per annum, pro rata for part-time or part-year, with a Recruitment Attraction Payment of up to £2,000 available.

This role offers a range of benefits, including eligibility to join a defined contribution pension scheme, free on-site parking, and access to an employee assistance scheme. You will also be able to access discounted hair treatments, use our on-site gym, and purchase Sparsholt produce at discounted prices.

We are looking for someone who is flexible and able to work from 3 to 5 days a week during term time or full year. Please indicate your preferred working pattern and campus in your application.

Working within the ALS team offers plenty of opportunity for career progression, whether it's into specialist support roles or as the first steps towards becoming a teacher. We offer excellent training opportunities and can help support with teacher training provided onsite.

If you're passionate about making a difference in the lives of students and have the skills and qualifications required for this role, we would love to hear from you.
