General Practitioner

We are seeking a newly qualified General Practitioner to join our team at Byfield Medical Centre, a rural practice located on the borders of Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, and Warwickshire.
Key Duties- Undertake a variety of duties governed by the GMS contract and objectives of Enhanced Services.
- Share of routine and urgent appointments, both face-to-face and telephone.
- Prescribe medications as per local and national guidelines.
- Manage administration tasks, including letters, results, tasks, referrals, telephone calls, and emails.
- Take responsibility for appropriate referrals and administration pertaining to them.
- Cover for colleagues in exceptional circumstances, such as sudden illness or external commitments.
- Work with other health and social care providers to ensure a safe and integrated service.
This is a fixed-term salaried contract until 31 March, with 6 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata) and one week study leave (pro rata).
Person Specification- Newly qualified GP with no previous substantive post.
- Strong IT skills and competent in the use of Microsoft Office and Outlook, ideally EMIS Web.
- Effective time management, with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure, with an understanding of the audit process.
- Polite and confident, flexible, and cooperative.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Full UK driving licence with access to own vehicle.
- Knowledge of Quality and Outcomes Framework.
- Knowledge of public health issues in the local area.
- Knowledge of health-promotion strategies.
