London, Greater London, United Kingdom Direct Line Group Full time
Motability Pricing Job Description

At Direct Line Group, our mission is to provide insurance solutions that cater to the diverse needs of our customers. We strive to combine decades of industry expertise with talented individuals in every field to become a customer-obsessed market powerhouse.

The world of pricing and underwriting can be complex, where historical data, geospatial information, and mathematical models intersect with skilled analysts. These professionals reduce risk and predict future events, enabling our business to grow while ensuring each customer receives the best price.

We are seeking a Pricer to join our Motor Manufacturing Tribe, which will sit within the Pricing Adequacy squad. This role will involve collaborating with colleagues from Claims, Business Partnering, and Reserving, as well as our partner Motability.

Job Responsibilities:

  • As a Pricer, you will work in an agile environment, taking charge early on, absorbing new experiences, and positively influencing and shaping what we do – making an impact on our customers' lives.
  • You will utilise your skills where they are most needed while also having the opportunity to build and grow the breadth of your expertise.

Your Key Tasks:

  1. Maintain the Pricing-owned projection of ultimate claim costs in Python, using the latest transactional claim data, insight from other teams, and your own experience and judgement.
  2. Support our partners, the charity Motability, with insight into claims and risk mix trends, helping them to effectively manage insurance risk on one of the largest motor fleets in the world.

What You'll Need:

  • A familiarity with motor claims, Python, and reserving techniques would be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with SQL and Python.

Benefits and Perks:

  • An estimated annual salary of £60,000, considering the location and job requirements.
  • A 9% employer contributed pension.
  • 50% off home, motor, and pet insurance plus free travel insurance and Green Flag breakdown cover.
  • Additional optional Health and Dental insurance.
  • Up to 10% bonus.
  • An EV car scheme allowing all colleagues to lease a brand-new electric or plug-in hybrid car in a tax-efficient way.
  • 25 days annual leave, increasing each year up to a maximum of 28.
  • A buy-as-you-earn share scheme.
  • Employee discounts and cashback.
