Development Manager

Deverellsmith has partnered with a specialist provider of professionally managed PRS housing.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious development professional to join a rapidly growing business.

The role requires effective and efficient management of projects on site from acquisition through to completion, ensuring the Operations team are kept updated on progress by updating internal systems and reporting regularly to key stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project scope, time, and cost.
  • Review specification at underwriting, acquisition, and delivery stages.
  • Process stage payments in line with contracts.
  • Appoint required consultants, including EA and CoW, in line with internal process.
  • Manage EA and developer relationships to ensure opportunities for new business.
  • Ensure site team/project adherence to all policies and procedures.
  • Manage performance of developer and EA accordingly and escalate under-performance.
  • Ensure EA collates information required internally.
  • Build and maintain relationships with housebuilder partners.
  • Manage and report on works undertaken on site to senior team and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance handover documentation is retained and filed for Operations team.
  • Oversee handover process, taking full responsibility for the final product received into Operations teams.

  • Knowledge of real estate development and construction processes.

  • Ability to work autonomously, confidently taking charge, making informed decisions, and initiating actions.
  • Proficient in presenting and interpreting information accurately and professionally.

  • Innovative problem-solving skills with a knack for identifying issues and crafting effective resolutions.
  • A strict adherence to confidentiality regarding all forms of information and data.
