Role Overview

Morgan Financial Search is delighted to present an exceptional opportunity for a highly skilled and ambitious Group Financial Controller to join their client, a leading industrial services company with operations across the UK and expanding into overseas markets.

This pivotal role will provide the ideal candidate with the chance to make a significant impact on the company's growth strategy and establish themselves as a key member of the Senior Management Team.

About the Company

The successful candidate will be reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will play a crucial role in strengthening the overall Finance function. They will be responsible for heading up the Central Finance function based at one of the main Operations hubs in Buckinghamshire/M1 corridor as well as managing Accounts staff at multiple sites across the UK.

Main Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop a first-class Finance team to drive business performance and achieve strategic objectives.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure the production of timely and robust Group financial reporting and consolidated Management accounts, automating processes where possible.
  • Statutory Accounts: Manage and oversee the Year-end Statutory Accounts consolidation process for all group entities.
  • Audit Management: Manage the timetable and interaction with Auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • System Development: Develop and strengthen financial systems, processes, and controls within the newly implemented ERP system, focusing on continuous improvements.
  • Process Streamlining: Streamline business processes to reduce transaction processing time and develop an efficient Shared Services function.
  • Policies and Procedures: Document and develop Group Accounting Policies and Procedures.
  • Cashflow Management: Manage Group Cashflow and Working Capital, including Bank covenant monitoring and reporting.
  • Treasury Management: Oversee Treasury Management to ensure effective financial planning and decision-making.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Produce Annual Budgets and quarterly Forecasts to inform business strategy and decision-making.
  • M&A Integration: Manage and integrate new Acquisitions/M&A activity from a financial and management reporting perspective.

Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a high-calibre graduate Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) with minimum 6-8 years PQE, possessing strong commercial and technical skills. They will have experience of working in a relevant multi-site Group Reporting environment, preferably in Service or Manufacturing sectors.

  • Finance Expertise: Strong finance knowledge and experience of financial analysis, accounting, and budgeting.
  • Leadership and Management: Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Systems and Excel: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience of implementing and developing ERP systems.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Liaison: Excellent communication and stakeholder liaison skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organisational and Time Management: Highly organised and able to work to tight deadlines, prioritising tasks and managing multiple projects.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a highly competitive starting salary between £80k - £100k plus an annual bonus scheme and comprehensive benefits package.
