About the RoleThis is a full-time position with a 37-hour workweek, offering hybrid working arrangements with two days spent in the office or onsite and three days worked from home. Agile working may be available, applying the principles of fairness and consistency while ensuring the company's business needs are met.
About the JobThe successful candidate will play a leading role within a dynamic design team undertaking traditional, bespoke, and innovative designs of reinforced concrete, steel, and masonry structures for defence, nuclear decommissioning, and nuclear new build projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering nuclear design work, inspections, and construction site support on projects for public and private sector clients across the UK and internationally.
- Conducting concept and feasibility studies for multi-discipline design projects.
- Analyzing and designing using engineering software such as Tekla and Robot, as well as producing hand calculations.
- Preparing calculations, CDM activities, basis of design, material specifications, scopes of work, technical reports, inter-discipline design coordination, and supervision.
- Liaising with technicians in the preparation of Revit models.
- Working with integrated multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-profile projects.
The ideal candidate will have highly developed experience in the design of structures in reinforced concrete and steelwork, with awareness and experience of using the latest design codes and standards. A degree-qualified (BEng or MEng) Civil/Structural Engineer with membership of ICE or IstructE, or working towards this status, is required. Security Clearance is also necessary for this role.
About the Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this position is up to £59,000 per year, plus benefits including a generous holiday allowance, matched contribution pension scheme up to 8% of salary, life assurance, employee share scheme, and more.
