Instrument Build Specialist

Oxford Nanopore Technologies is a leading developer of real-time nanopore-based DNA/RNA sequencing technology. We are seeking a highly skilled Instrument Build Technician to join our engineering team.
This exciting role will involve providing hands-on engineering and production support for the introduction and development of products from prototype through to regulated commercial instruments. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electronic engineering, with experience in assembling and developing complex electromechanical products.
The ideal candidate will have a GCSE in Maths & English and a relevant engineering qualification. They will have worked in prototype and production environments and be used to fast-paced working conditions. The ability to work well in a team and adapt to new challenges and deadlines is essential.
As an Instrument Build Technician, you will be responsible for building sub-assemblies and devices to required specification and standard, ensuring departmental targets are met. You will also be responsible for following production and operational procedures & instructions, filling out manufacturing records thoroughly, and maintaining a safe, professional, clean and tidy work space at all times.
