About the Role

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Strategic Housing Service as a Housing Policy Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a project that will provide new affordable homes across the Borough.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess housing need and demand to develop affordable housing policy
  • Research modern methods of construction, low-cost home ownership, custom and self-build, community led housing and urban regeneration frameworks
  • Liaise with partners from Housing Associations and developers to Government Departments, estate agents and households seeking affordable housing

You will be part of a small friendly and supportive team who work closely together to develop innovative mechanisms to deliver homes of the right type, quality and cost in the right locations.

We offer a hybrid working role, with the opportunity to work from home and promote a good work/life balance. We also operate a flexi-time system with the opportunity to accrue additional leave.

Requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a team and liaise with partners
  • Experience of working in the field of housing, planning or regeneration
