Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Support the Legal Department: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the legal department, ensuring that all legal matters are handled efficiently and effectively.
  • Draft and Negotiate Commercial Contracts: Develop and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements, ensuring that they are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide Legal Advice: Offer expert legal advice to the business, ensuring that all decisions are informed by a deep understanding of the law.
  • Manage External Counsel: Work with external law firms to manage legal matters, ensuring that costs are minimized and outcomes are optimized.
  • Manage a Legal Team: Lead and manage a team of lawyers, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are equipped to handle complex legal matters.

Requirements:

  • English Qualified Solicitor: You must be an English qualified solicitor with at least 7 years' post-qualified experience.
  • Public Procurement Law: You must have a deep understanding of public procurement law in the UK, including the relevant regulations and procedures.
  • Commercial Outlook: You must have a commercial outlook and be able to provide strategic advice to the business.
  • Communication Skills: You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
