Electrical Maintenance Specialist

We are now seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Specialist to lead planned and cyclical electrical maintenance and upgrades at our Northern Powerhouse site, which has over 1000 employees working in manufacturing and design.

Job Summary:

  • Provide advice and guidance to the Facilities Director on various electrical systems across the site, focusing on electrical services compliance and maintenance.
  • Manage the delivery of responsive, planned, and cyclical maintenance that meets health and safety requirements.
  • Lead a team of two direct reports and manage several specialist contractors who maintain compliant services such as fire alarms, emergency lighting, high-voltage networks, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work in line with current legislation and health and safety standards.
  2. Ensure electrical records, reports, and procedures are reviewed, maintained, and meet industry standards.
  3. Provide leadership and direction to the team while managing external contractors on site.
  4. Project manage various upgrades and changes, ensuring timelines are met.
  5. Prioritize the team's workload with incoming change requests from stakeholders.
  6. Work with access control systems, CCTV, and CHP (Combined Heat & Power generators).
  7. Work with uninterruptable power supplies.

Requirements:

  • Able to work on site Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm, Monday to Thursday, and until 2pm on Friday.
  • NVQ Level 3 certification in Electrical Installation or maintenance (or time-served qualification).
  • 18th Edition Electrical Installations qualified.
  • Periodic Electrical Inspection & Testing certification.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance.
  • Team leadership or management experience.
  • Project management exposure.
