Job Summary
This role requires a professional with a strong engineering background to provide site-based support and maintenance services to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance of installed automated equipment. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as experience working with automated material handling systems.
Responsibilities
- Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance and repair of all onsite automated equipment.
- Perform planned repairs and reactive repairs of automated material handling equipment including, tote conveyors, spiral conveyors, sorters, shuttles, and robotics.
- Conduct fault-finding and diagnosis of mechanical and/or electrical faults.
- Respond to automation faults and breakdowns in a timely manner to ensure minimal downtime.
Requirements
- Recognized Engineering Apprenticeship, ONC or equivalent qualification in engineering discipline (multiskilled preferable).
- Experience of working with automated material handling systems.
- Ability to work at height.
- Capable of understanding Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Electronic technical manuals and drawings.
- Proven competence in H&S.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of control systems and techniques.
- Ability to work in a time-critical environment.
- Effective time and workload management skills.
- PC literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this role is £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, we offer a wide range of benefits, including health insurance, pension scheme, and access to our wellbeing program.
