Job Title: Specialist Pharmacy Technician Manager

We are seeking an experienced and skilled pharmacy technician to join our Medicines Management Team as a Specialist Pharmacy Technician Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services to our patients.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of pharmacy technicians to deliver a high-quality medicines optimisation and pharmaceutical care service to all patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement innovative approaches to manage ward-based supply of dispensed medicines, ensuring patients receive their medicines accurately and safely in a timely manner.
  • Assess training needs of pharmacy technical staff and provide competency-based training to ensure they have the necessary skills to deliver high-quality services.
  • Develop and review ward-based policies and procedures to ensure they are up-to-date and effective.
  • Represent the Medicines Management team at appropriate meetings and contribute to departmental discussions.

Requirements:
  • BTEC level 3 in pharmaceutical science or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Experience of management within pharmaceutical services, including staff, budget, and resource management.
  • Knowledge of medicines management services within an NHS context.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and guidance relating to dispensary services.
