About the Role
National Grid is seeking a highly skilled Senior Modelling Specialist to join our Energy Security Modelling team. As a key member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the energy security of Great Britain.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain complex models to analyze and predict power system and market conditions.
- Lead data management and assurance processes to ensure modelling accuracy and robustness.
- Produce clear and concise analysis and visualizations of modelling results for stakeholders.
- Communicate the potential impact of changes to future market and operational conditions to a wide range of audiences.
- Act as a key interface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure proactive management of key stakeholders.
- Drive the overall analytical approach for the team, ensuring a consistent application of methods and standards.
About You
We are looking for someone with specialist knowledge of mathematical modelling techniques, including regression, time series analysis, and machine learning techniques. You should have experience in developing models from first principles and a strong understanding of the strengths and limitations of modelling assumptions.
