Job Description:

An Ofsted-rated GOOD primary school in Cambridge is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their permanent staff team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HLTA or a passionate Teaching Assistant ready to take the next step in their career, working within a supportive and dynamic school community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across the school, either in partnership with the teacher or independently.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess learning activities under the direction of teaching staff.
  • Support and lead small groups or one-to-one interventions, targeting specific learning needs.
  • Cover whole classes in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring continuity of learning.
  • Provide pastoral care and support, helping to foster a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
Requirements:
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent (Level 4 or above).
  • Proven experience working in a primary school setting.
  • Experience leading whole-class teaching and delivering lessons in a supportive role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • A good understanding of the primary curriculum and child development.
  • Patience, creativity, and a passion for helping children achieve their full potential.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
