Electrical Engineering Industrial Placement

At EDF, we're committed to helping Britain achieve Net Zero. Our Electrical Engineering Industrial Placement offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in a real-world setting, working alongside experienced colleagues to develop their skills and knowledge.

What You'll Do

You'll be working on real-world challenges that directly impact the energy industry, applying your academic training to genuine industry problems. You'll have the opportunity to work on projects such as:

  • Supporting improvements to safety through communications campaigns, training, and other improvement projects.
  • Looking at how radiation protection supports the building and operational life of new power stations; developing the skills necessary to support a wide range of teams in order to provide advice on radiation protection.
  • Assisting in running, maintaining, and developing the condition monitoring programme throughout a plant.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for candidates who are on track to achieve, or have already achieved, a 2:2 undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Electrical Engineering. You should possess strong technical and analytical skills, along with a genuine desire to learn and develop new capabilities. A questioning attitude, good teamwork, and effective communication skills are also essential qualities we seek.

Training, Development, and Support

Over the course of this 12-month programme, you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in hands-on learning, working on real-world challenges that directly impact the energy industry. You'll have a chance to apply your academic training to genuine industry problems while completing modules that contribute towards your degree.

Your Work Location

Your work location will be within Gloucester. You will be situated within our office which is located within Gloucester Business Park (GL3 4AE).
