We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Support Assistant to join our team at Ashworth Street Surgery. As a Medical Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the general practice team.



The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in healthcare, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team. You will be responsible for assisting with patient care, adhering to strict guidelines and protocols, and working under the direct supervision of GPs and Practice Nurses.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Assist with phlebotomy, blood pressure checks, ECGs, urinalysis, and other clinical tasks
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of environments and equipment before, during, and after patient care interventions
  • Collate data on patient needs related to health and well-being
  • Participate in minor surgery procedures and vaccination programs
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with the collation of data


Person Specification:



Essential Qualifications:




  • GCSE Grade A to C in English and Maths
  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care
  • Qualified in Phlebotomy


Desirable Experience:




  • 2 years' experience in general practice
  • Excellent team player with good organisational skills
