About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEND, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their qualifications.
  • Assist students with learning needs, including those with physical, sensory, or cognitive impairments.
  • Help students to develop their study and organizational skills, and provide guidance on how to record work in an appropriate way.
  • Support students to build their confidence and self-esteem, and help them to develop a growth mindset.
  • Collaborate with tutors to contribute to lesson planning and implementation, and provide feedback on student progress.
  • Prepare students for tasks and activities, and provide one-to-one support as needed.
  • Supervise practical tasks and provide support to students with SEND in all lessons and around the centre.
  • Act as a key worker to specific learners, providing ongoing support and guidance.
  • Liaise with relevant team members to ensure learners achieve their targets and progress towards appropriate outcomes.
  • Read and analyze EHCPs to identify learning needs and ensure the correct resources are in place for individuals.
  • Provide learners with encouragement, guidance, and support to help them progress, and complete all required documentation accurately and within agreed timescales.
  • Create conducive learning environments to optimize learners' journeys and support positive outcomes.
  • Ensure your own Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is up-to-date as per the requirements for your subject area.
Requirements
  • Learning support qualification or willingness to work towards (desirable)
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and maths at grade C/4 or above (essential)
  • SEND experience (desirable)
  • SEND CPD (desirable)
Working Hours

Term Time Only: Monday to Thursday 8.45am to 5.30pm, Friday 8.45am to 1.15pm, 37.5 hours per week.
