Clinical Nurse Specialist in Hepatology

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced registered adult nurse to join our Hepatology Clinical Nurse Specialist Team at Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate will work alongside our Advanced Clinical Practitioner and CNSs to deliver high-quality care to patients with liver disease.
The role will involve working in our Ambulatory Assessment Unit, where you will be responsible for completing level academic qualifications to facilitate advanced procedural skills, including abdominal paracentesis.
You will also have the opportunity to complete an Independent and Supplementary Prescribing module to enable you to work as an autonomous practitioner.
As a member of our team, you will contribute to the development of our service and help with clinical audits relevant to your area of expertise.
Main Duties of the Job
Work alongside the Hepatology ACP/CNS colleagues in the delivery of the Abdominal Paracentesis Service and Ambulatory Assessment Unit
Manage the Hepatology CNS phone and email advice line and escalate queries to senior colleagues when required
Complete a master's level module in Advanced History Taking and the Hepatology Nurse Paracentesis Competency Workbook to develop advanced procedural skills and become an autonomous practitioner in performing abdominal paracentesis
Manage the haemochromatosis service providing regular venesections and ensuring strict monitoring of patients within their maintenance phase
Refer patients to the service and maintain regular attendance to the MDT, supporting the ACP when providing Hepatology advice for the management of patients within the community
Maintain the joint OXF/RFH Liver Transplant database and be a point of contact for patients active on the waiting list
